There is still good news
Easter is coming! Sooner than we might think. April 5th!
You lose a job. Or retire. There is still good news. Jesus has a call for you.
You don’t know where your life will go. Or how your life will go. There is still good news. Jesus has gone ahead.
You lose someone you care about. There is still good news. Jesus rises.
In all of life’s ups and downs, successes and failures, joys and sorrows, and ease and troubles, one truth gets us through: there is still good news.
Let’s hear some good news this Easter April 5th at 9:30 am.
Stay after for a light breakfast, egg hunt, and activities.
Can’t wait to see you!

Divine Call received
I’d like to let you all know that I have received a request to serve as a pastor in another congregation. The congregation is St John’s in Newville, WI which is both starting another congregation and acquiring another congregation. https://www.stjohnwi.org/
Our Christian churches call these requests to serve in a specific place “calls” or “divine calls”. Hebrews 5:4 writes, “No one takes this honor upon himself; he must be called by God, just as Aaron was. So Christ also did not take upon himself the glory of becoming a high priest.” People do not magically become pastors overnight. Whatever sense they have of an inner call should be confirmed by groups of Christians. These calls are just that. They are confirmation from God, through the church, that I am welcome in Christian ministry.
Over the coming weeks, I will deliberate this call with you all. I will seek God’s guidance through his Word and people. I invite people from both congregations to reach out to me. I’d love to hear from you. I trust that God will be at work for the good of his kingdom.
This call does not mean that we’re looking to leave Peace. We’re grateful for the people, the community, and the ministry. We are not obligated to accept the new call to serve at St John’s. All the calls are equally valid. We will follow God’s guidance through his Word, his people, and our gifting.
We’ll deliberate these calls for some time. Again, to reiterate, people at both congregations are invited to reach out with prayers, encouragement, and wisdom. 269-694-6104 or ntimmermann@peaceotsego.org
We’ll have a public conversation regarding the call on Sunday March 22nd after service.
I’m grateful that Jesus is Lord of the church through all the things that are going on and he still leads us forward in his mission. I can’t wait to see what he does in both places through his mighty gospel!
In Christ,
Nathaniel Timmermann, along with Rachel, Clara, Lillian, Marie, Josiah, and Alex

Gospel Spotlight
The most beautiful moment of the week: I sat with a 94 year old saint who doesn’t know where she is, or who she is, or who anyone else is. But when I sang “Jesus Loves Me”, she sang word for word with joy. One truth has remained.
Her Savior loves her.

Prayer Highlight
I want to invite you to pray for Peace as we deliberate this call.
Lord Jesus, you are Lord of the Church. You rule over all your people. You speak the truth. You help your people.
Please help the people of God in Otsego-Plainwell and the Cambridge, WI area. Guide both congregations as they seek your future. Make their prayers earnest, their conversations honest, and their searching diligent. We pray you then work all good for your kingdom.
We pray this in the name of Jesus our Lord, Amen.
Our sick or homebound friends - Judy Haugh, Brenda Grimm, Shirley Kling, Darlene Syers, Irene Haas, Maxine Sandahl, Marge Gavan, Don Hutchinson, Tanya (Doris Paradine’s daughter in law), Terry and Kyley, Fred (Jane’s brother)
