Dear friends of Jesus connected through Peace,

News for Sunday of February 22nd, 2026

Lessons this week: Genesis 3:1-15, Romans 5:12-19, Matthew 4:1-11

Songs this week: “Christ Be My Leader”, “A Mighty Fortress is Our God”, “In Adam We Have All Been One”, “Rescuer”

Return to him. He remembers you.

Can you imagine seeing your home destroyed, your city leveled, and your church gone?

And instead of saying, “Oh that’s too bad. I’m sure you tried hard. Let me help you”, the Lord says, “Return to me. You turned away from me and went your own way. That’s why this happened. Now turn back.”

That’s our call this Lent.

I realize that many of us can’t make midweek Lenten services. I invite you to at least watch our services when you can and participate. They are a particular call to repentance. https://youtube.com/live/mb8miJvGzJ0

We need to hear this call this year. It’s time to renew and rebuild his temple.

Please return to him with me. How are you returning? Text me at 269-694-6104

Gospel Spotlight

“Am I good enough?”

Am I good enough to go to home? Am I good enough to get close to God? Is there a spot for me?

This week I got to say, Friend, you are. You are. Not because you have done that much good, but because everything Jesus did counts for you. When I look at you, I see so many good things; God sees even more because he sees that Jesus lived, died, and rose.

I loved sharing the gospel like this.

Prayer Highlight

Return to me.

I’m sad to see what has happened to the church. Let’s pray for our return to the Lord.

Heavenly Father,

You who revive the weary and awaken the sleeping soul, we come before You hungry for Your presence.

Lord, we have heard of Your fame and Your mighty deeds in generations past. We stand in awe of what You have done, and we cry out:

Renew Your works in our day. In our time, make them known again. Pour out Your Spirit afresh—revive what has grown cold in our hearts, our families, our churches, and our cities. Awaken us from spiritual slumber. Stir hunger where there is apathy. Ignite passion where there is indifference. Break chains of distraction and lesser commitments that keep us from Your best.

Holy Spirit, come and renew us. Breathe life into dry bones. Restore the joy of our salvation. Make us a people who tremble at Your Word, who contend in prayer, and who live as agents of Your awakening in this generation.

We ask for personal renewal: heal our hearts, align our desires with Yours, and fill us anew with Your fire. We ask for corporate awakening: visit Your church with fresh outpouring, that Your fame and deeds would be known once more.

In the name of Jesus, who makes all things new we pray for our return to you. Amen.

Connect with Peace

We try hard to keep us all connected together.

To do that, we use a lot of communication tools and we need to actually talk to each other.

You can always reach pastor and church at 269-694-6104 or church@peaceotsego.org

You can find us on socials at https://www.facebook.com/peaceotsego or https://www.instagram.com/peaceforotsego/

The Peace Team

We’ve got a couple of changes in the Peace team.

  • Bill Harris was installed as vice-president.

  • Maintenance work has been restructured. The entire team will work together to make decisions about projects and carry them out.

Each of us plays an important role in the gospel ministry of Peace Lutheran Church. We’d love to work with you to help you use the gifts and talents you have to serve people.

Table Cover

What do you think of this table cover? We're looking to make the entry table look better with a professional cover, the kind you might see at events.

Do you like it?

Some aren't sure about the blue. It's "Peace blue", the blue from our logo and other materials. But it isn't the same as anything else in the entry area.

The other question is lettering. The old logo is an elegant, artistic lettering; this is more bold and square with a little artistry.

This cover would also be used for public events to represent Peace.

Give us a yes/no!
