Voters’ Meeting
Second, thank you to all who participated in the voters’ meeting.
bylaws - we approved the final version of our updated bylaws. We’ll get them submitted. Thank you! Please find those updated bylaws here. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-fw1F-Rr6o4QOK5PG0koeiOBYOX8-oEU/view?usp=sharing Please let the office know if you’d like a printed copy.
ministry plan and budget - we approved a ministry plan and budget for 2023. There are no major changes planned for our staffing, facility, or programming for 2023. We have planned for a slight cut back in some facility areas and programming so that we can absorb rising costs related to staffing and utilities. You can find it here. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NiHDw60ZfhNLVGjXm9AizoVk3ZnTGebE/view?usp=sharing
special offering - we sent a special offering to the synod and to Christian Neighbors
Our next meeting will be January 29th, 2023 to review all of our 2022 ministry and approve the 2023 council.
Thank you for your partnership!
Christmas Banner
We put a Christmas banner up downtown to wish people a Merry Christmas. We’re looking to replace our old one.
We’ve got a couple of options. Which do you like? Let us know! Email church@peaceotsego.org or call/text 269-694-6104.
If you already shared your input on our Facebook group, no ballot stuffing! Peace - Otsego | Facebook
Lutheran Leadership
I’m excited about the upcoming conference on Lutheran Leadership. Love to join you! Check it out!
Reformation
The Reformation is a significant event that changed so much.
There are a lot of good resources out there to get a sense of the impact of the Reformation. Here are just a couple:
Our Reformation guide histheo-reformation_impact_of-20171031.pdf
A great site detailing the theology and history of the Reformation Reformation 500th Anniversary | News, Resources, History (lutheranreformation.org)
Proposition 3
We received a brief article from our affiliated pregnancy care center that we want to share with you. It addresses Proposition 3, which is part of the November 8th election. To read the article, please click here Speaking Up article.
As a Christian church in the confessional Lutheran tradition, we want to believe and live according to the Bible and the Lutheran Confessions. We recognize difficult questions related to Proposition 3; the council has been discussing them some. This questions deals with a lot of politics to be sure, but it also has a lot to do with our beliefs, our theology, our ethics, and so much more.
We encourage you to read up on this matter and consider it appropriately. If you have any questions about the Bible and Christian living, please feel free to talk to pastor or our elder Tom Wright. They’d be glad to listen and discuss them with you.
Thank you for walking with us to bring people the gospel of Jesus.
Armed Security Survey
Peace is aware of the many safety and security concerns we face. Because of that we try to stay on top of policies and practices that keep us safe.
The question of an armed security team has come up. We are taking a survey to get congregation input.
Please take a moment to fill out the survey at this link https://peace.breezechms.com/form/d4cb43 or pick up a paper copy on site.
Questions? Please contact Gary Coombs or the church office.

Welcome Home
This week I’d like to thank the Wedge family. The Wedges have had so many trials over the last few years, but they’ve also been consistently present to serve all of us. They clean, they help teach the children, they bring flowers, they mow, they help with the Youth Crew, and now they are working on music for our services. If you see them, please thank them their work. They do so much.
Work day - our fall work day is scheduled for November 5th, 9:00 a.m. Lots to do. Please come be part of the work and fun https://docs.google.com/document/d/1AYi87Y77lyE9Cyd1rf0Ja6z2IcPvGW69pSqUDpsb6yI/edit
