The maintenance team installed smoke detectors for us this week. Thanks for that good and useful update! Great work guys!
It's kind of a strange thing to announce, but we want to make sure people know a few things about this update.
- These are not true commercial detectors, but are better quality (prosumer) home detectors.
- They are NOT linked by either physical wiring or a wireless network as would be typical in most installations. As they are currently set up, if the unit in the kitchen goes off, the rest of the units will NOT go off. If a unit goes off when you are in the building and it is a false alarm, you can turn it off without the rest of the units activating.
- They are also NOT linked to the fire alarm system. We have an existing fire alarm system. You can see these strobes around the facility. In order to activate the fire alarm system, you MUST pull the fire pull.
- The smoke detectors will NOT notify the fire department or anyone else. If there is a fire, please safely exit the building and call the fire department.
This is a great update for our space. Thanks! We're set for another 10 year. :-)
