Dear friends of Jesus at Peace,

I announced that I have accepted a call from our Lord through the people in Cambridge, WI. In the coming months, I’ll be moving there to help them start a new congregation.

I’m sad and sorry to leave you for many reasons. I’m sad to leave you. We’ve grown close and made some great memories together. I love you and you have loved me well. Thanks! I am also sorry that we haven’t always seen the fruits we wanted. God has done his work, no matter what happened. I am very proud of what the good Lord has done among us, and I’m excited to see what he will do among you next!

Let me say that no one said anything to push me away. You do not need to doubt or question at all about each other. You all spoke well to me and supported me as I considered how to use my gifts for God’s good. I am fully confident you can continue to do the same to each other.

I’m taking this call because I’m convinced God has called me to do this. God didn’t say anything to me or show me signs. Instead, I spoke to people, learned of the situation, reflected on my situation in life, and realized this was something for me. That is where the Lord would have me continue my vocation as a gospel minister.

I can only be grateful for our time together. Whether sad or happy, God worked among us. We repented together. We grieved and mourned together. We confessed together. We loved together. We hoped together. We rejoiced together.

The congregation will begin an interim process now as we seek direction and the next shepherd in Otsego-Plainwell. You can see a great image above to summarize the process.

  • First, we’ll have a two month or so transition, which will end with a farewell. I deeply hope you’ll join me and say goodbye. We’ll let you know when.
  • Second, we’ll have a pastor help us out with ministry at Peace for a time. He’ll preach, teach, and guide our souls. That time may last for four months to years.
  • Third, we’ll transition into a new phase of ministry with a new shepherd.

Please help me wrap up my time well in Otsego-Plainwell.

  • Have a concern or question we need to work through? Now is the time. Please reach out.
  • Can I give you some hope for the future? I’d love to talk with you.
  • Wondering what will happen to Peace and how things will go? Want to share some encouragement or wisdom? Contact me or Josh Gower who will serve as president.
  • Want to say goodbye? Great! Let’s get together and have coffee or more!

Friends, a Christian congregation is better than a family. I know we love our families, but we are better. We are a forever family. We will be together in spirit and truth until Christ returns and then for all eternity. I can’t wait!

I’ll be available at the local number 269-694-6104 for a time. Love to hear from you.

In Jesus
